2022 Campaign Articles

Hey there,

In case you missed it, Stacey Abrams took to Twitter earlier this week to promote her upcoming virtual fundraiser with an activist who donated at least $10,000 to a bail fund group whose mission is to "eliminate prisons and abolish police."

Abrams also recently joined an Instagram Live with actress Stephanie Beatriz, an advocate for Community Justice Exchange, and admitted to being "really close" to a "stalker" of Beatriz's work.

Beatriz, who played a police officer on television, used her platform in 2020 to raise over $10,000 for Community Justice Exchange. Later on, she and her "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" cast mates donated $100,000 to the National Bail Fund Network.

Crime rates are steadily rising: the city of Atlanta has seen the third biggest jump in its homicide rates compared to other American cities since early 2020.

Stacey Abrams' campaign reportedly ignored requests for comment on her affiliation with anti-police advocate Stephanie Beatriz, as well as her affiliation with the Marguerite Casey Foundation.

"Regardless of whether or not she allows her campaign to comment, one thing is clear: Stacey Abrams supports defunding the police. Luckily, Georgia Republicans have common sense and know that safe communities depend on safe policing."

WEDNESDAY, MAY 25

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GREATER GEORGIA SPARKS RECORD VOTER TURNOUT IN STATE’S PRIMARIES

ATLANTA—Yesterday, Georgia voters shattered turnout records in the 2022 primary elections. 857,401 voters voted early in-person and absentee compared to 299,347 who voted early and absentee in the 2018 primary. In total, including Election Day turnout, over 1.9 million voters cast their ballots - compared to about 1.2 million in the 2018 primary. Conservatives overwhelmingly dominated the election, with about 63% of voters casting ballots in the Republican primary - up from the 52% who voted Republican in the 2018 primary.

"Yesterday's turnout - and the record surge of conservative voters – represents over a year of hard work by Greater Georgia staff and volunteers, who have helped build a a year-round registration and mobilization machine for the conservative movement. With almost 2 million voter contacts, and tens of thousands of newly registered voters, it’s clear that this effort is anchoring a conservative comeback - and putting a stop to the far-Left’s advance on our state,” said former U.S. Senator and Greater Georgia Chairwoman Kelly Loeffler. “We remain squarely focused on November’s general election, and are adding to the ground-game as we look to outperform on the ground again – and to help deliver decisive wins for Georgia conservatives.”

Fellow Republican,

We’re one month closer to Election Day, and Georgia Victory is working hard to bring a simple reality the state of Georgia: Take back the House and Senate. Together, we can defeat Stacey Abrams, Raphael Warnock and Joe Biden.

Georgia Victory is stronger than ever and we are preparing to win in November. To join our biggest, most formidable effort yet, sign up here!

Election Integrity (EI)

Election Integrity Director Jonny Moseley and his team are working with stakeholders across Georgia to ensure that the 2022 election is free and fair. Their operation is modeled after Governor Youngkin's hugely successful infrastructure in Virginia.

Contrary to Democrat lies and hysteria about SB202, the law and the tireless work of grassroots conservatives around the state have created positive change. The improved security of absentee ballot voting, the mandated continuous counting of votes after Election Day and the elimination of mobile voting have all made it easier to vote and harder to cheat.

The Election Integrity team had a massively successful April, conducting Republican Leadership Initiative trainings throughout the Peach State. From Jefferson to Canton, and through several virtual trainings, they trained more than 600 Georgians to be poll watchers and poll workers. These volunteers have learned Georgia’s election code and are ready to help ensure a fair election in 2022.

After testing our Election Integrity apparatus in the House District 45 special election and achieving 100% coverage, we are ready to ensure safe and secure elections in the May 24 primary election and during the early voting period, which began on May 2.

There is no better way to ensure safe and sound elections than by learning about the required processes and being a part of the action. SB202 ensured that your county’s Republican Party can have 2 poll watchers per precinct, so grab a friend or a loved one and sign up here.

To volunteer as a poll watcher or poll worker, sign up for a training or learn more about our election integrity efforts, click here or email electionintegrity@gagop.org.

Field

Our Field Team, led by Deputy State Director Sean Pumphrey, is working every single day to ensure that Stacey Abrams, Raphael Warnock and the Democrat machine are defeated in November. At the end of April, Georgia Victory launched "Operation RED", our most ambitious weekend of voter contact yet. In just three days, over 100 volunteers knocked nearly 50,000 doors to Get Out the Vote for this month's primary.

Looking ahead, Sean and his team will be holding Republican Leadership Initiative trainings and engaging voters at county party events across the Peach State. Make sure to connect with them if they knock on your door.

As we approach the May 24 Republican Primary, now less than three weeks away, we will be working to ensure high voter turnout and a sophisticated volunteer network. On May 25, we will fully partner with our nominees to ensure Republican victories up and down the ballot in November.

No campaign is successful without a dedicated contingent of volunteers, and I'd like to take a moment to recognize those tirelessly working to take back the House and Senate and keep Georgia red. This month’s All-Star Volunteer is Chris Clark. A frequent volunteer at the RNC Black American Community Center in College Park, Chris is always happy to knock doors and talk to voters about how conservative principles can work for them. I’m confident that Chris’ energy and enthusiasm will help deliver our party a resounding victory in November. To be eligible for this honor, get involved with your Neighborhood Team!

To connect with the Regional Field Director in your area, or to submit your resume for potential positions, click here or email victory@gagop.org.

Strategic Initiatives (SI)

Strategic Initiatives Director Sarah Jane Walker and her team are focused on building trust and forging strong relationships around the state, as well as building coalitions through educational activities, faith-based and veterans’ events and door-knocking.

The SI team held a series of exciting events over the last month, including a statewide Prayer Call, led by Pastor Tony Lowden and other faith leaders from our APA and Black American Community Centers. Prayer warriors from all over the state held more than 10 simultaneous in-person prayer meetings joining with our virtual attendees in praying for the upcoming elections. Our Community Centers have been host to family and educational activities including a tax training event held in Korean, a family Easter egg hunt and and exhibit of local artists and student art called Black Excellence in Art.

Our newly hired Hispanic American Regional Engagement Coordinator, Eduardo Zamora, is leading Hispanic outreach throughout the Peach State and will be opening an office soon. To join Eduardo’s team, sign up for an event or to learn more about our Strategic Initiatives program, click here or email swalker@gagop.org.

Data

Our data team is dedicated to making the RNC’s comprehensive data platform, GOP Data Center, and voter contact app Campaign Sidekick available free of charge to all Republican candidates and county party chairmen.

The strategies that Data Director Dylan Kellos is developing will give us the edge that we need to defeat Stacey Abrams and Raphael Warnock in November. Following the model of Governor Youngkin’s stunning victory in Virginia, we will provide campaigns with detailed analyses of targeted voters and growth opportunities.

Nearly all of Georgia’s statewide campaigns have signed up to use GOP Data Center and Campaign Sidekick. Once we reach Election Day, Georgia Republicans will be fully integrated within Georgia Victory’s data platforms. To find out how your county party or campaign can use this incredible resource, email victory@gagop.org.

Communications

Georgia Press Secretary Garrison Douglas has worked tirelessly to fight the liberal media, sharpen our message and deliver it to Georgians. Over the last month, a Korean-language article in the Atlanta K highlighted our aforementioned tax training event, and we shone a light on Stacey Abrams newfound status as a millionaire.

You can count on Garrison and his team to hold Joe Biden and Georgia Democrats accountable for their myriad of self-inflicted crises, which have weakened America from out-of-control inflation, supply chain shortages and obscene spending, to the botched Afghanistan withdrawal.

Under Joe Biden, Americans are poorer and less safe. November is our chance to correct his mistakes. Americans are TIRED of promises being broken by the Democrat elite and as a party it is our job to send strong Republicans to take back the House and Senate. Thanks to the hard work of conservatives like you, we can and will win in 2022!

To victory,

Chet Martin

State Director
